Maine passes first-in-nation freeze on big data centers

Maine has enacted a groundbreaking temporary ban on the construction of large data centers that consume over 20 megawatts of power, marking the first such legislation in the United States. This measure, lasting 1.5 years, is now awaiting approval from Governor Janet Mills.
